The decentralized exchange Uniswap announced that transaction volumes on its layer two (L2) solutions have surpassed $500 billion. Since its launch in 2018, Uniswap has expanded its reach to include various networks and Ethereum L2 solutions, becoming the sixth-largest decentralized finance protocol with a total value locked (TVL) of $6.241 billion. The significant portion of Uniswap's L2 transaction volume occurred in 2024, with volumes increasing from $196.19 billion to $501.66 billion. Gas fees paid by L2s on Ethereum's mainnet have seen a sharp reduction, and Uniswap is connected to 28 different blockchains.
