Meter, a Layer-1 blockchain, has released Supernova Core, an open-source consensus framework compatible with the Cosmos source development kit. Supernova Core aims to address performance and scalability issues within the Cosmos ecosystem, utilizing the HotStuff consensus protocol and BLS signature aggregation. The core has been tested on the Meter mainnet and offers an optimized communication layer, enhanced message efficiency, and full EVM compatibility. It aims to reduce communication overhead and enable networks to scale beyond 150 validators while promoting censorship resistance and enabling Layer-2 solutions. Future updates will include parallel EVM execution capabilities and an optimized database.
