The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the members of its Crypto Task Force staff, which advises the Commission on matters related to cryptocurrency. Led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, the team includes experienced agency officials and digital asset experts. The task force is composed of staff from multiple SEC divisions and offices and is made up of 15 members, including a Chief of Staff, Chief Counsel, Chief Policy Advisor, Chief of Operations, and 10 senior advisors. The team includes individuals with expertise in law, policy, blockchain regulation, and the crypto industry. The formation of the task force comes as the SEC faces growing pressure to provide clearer regulations for cryptocurrencies. On March 21, the task force will hold its first roundtable discussion on defining security status as part of its ongoing series on crypto regulation.
