Aave, a decentralized lending platform, has announced the launch of its lending markets on Sonic, a high-performance blockchain that emerged from Fantom. This move is part of Aave's plan to expand across multiple blockchains. The decision to deploy Aave version 3 on Sonic came after a governance proposal approval. Aave anticipates that Sonic's monetization model will allow decentralized protocols like Aave to earn transaction fees, creating an additional income source. Furthermore, Aave recently decided to cease lending operations on the Polygon PoS chain due to potential risks arising from Polygon's pre-PIP proposal. Although the proposal was rejected, Aave contributors maintained their decision to halt operations on the chain.
