Mike Selig, a crypto lawyer and former partner at international law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, has been appointed as the chief counsel of the newly-created Crypto Task Force at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Selig previously interned for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and has been actively involved in the crypto industry. He has suggested ways for the SEC to move towards a regulatory environment that supports innovation. Selig's appointment is part of a larger announcement that includes 14 staff members joining the task force, including individuals with crypto industry experience and career SEC staff. This task force aims to find workable solutions for crypto regulatory challenges.
