Bitcoin mining firm Marathon Digital reported a 6% decline in Bitcoin production for February due to higher network difficulty and fewer operational days. Although there was a 4% increase in production per day compared to January, the overall monthly production decreased. Marathon emphasized that its energized hashrate remained stable. The company is nearing the completion of a 40-megawatt data center in Ohio and aims to strengthen its position in the artificial intelligence space. The rise in network difficulty and increased competition have posed challenges for miners since Bitcoin's halving in 2024. Marathon's shares dropped 5% following the production update.
