The cryptocurrency market experienced a surge in prices following Donald Trump's announcement of a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano. Bitcoin approached $95,000 but has since pulled back to $92,800, while Ethereum experienced a larger pullback from $2,550 to $2,360. XRP, Solana, and Cardano saw strong rallies of 17%, 13%, and 48%, respectively. The volatile market has led to $971 million in cryptocurrency derivatives contracts being liquidated in the past day, with short investors representing over 57% of the total. Bitcoin and Ethereum accounted for the majority of these liquidations.
