Prosecutors have requested an 18-month prison sentence for Heather Morgan, also known as "Razzlekhan," for her involvement in a money laundering scheme connected to the 2016 Bitfinex hack. Morgan's husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, admitted to being the original hacker and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering, facing a maximum sentence of 20 years. Court documents reveal that Morgan became an accessory to the crime by helping her husband launder the stolen funds. Prosecutors acknowledge Morgan's early acceptance of responsibility and assistance to law enforcement but highlight her attempts to obstruct justice, including destroying evidence. Prosecutors have also requested that she return the cryptocurrencies seized by the government as restitution to Bitfinex. Morgan is scheduled to be sentenced on November 15, one day after Lichtenstein's sentencing.
