Bitcoin's computational power, or hashrate, has reached a new all-time high of 698 exahash per second. This surpasses the previous record set in September. The increase in hashrate is attributed to a decline in price, a drop in hashprice, and an increase in network difficulty. The hashrate has risen by 73 exahash per second in the past ten days. As a result, block intervals have quickened and a difficulty adjustment is expected on October 22.
