Rising NFT marketplace OpenSea announced Tuesday its launch of OpenSea Pro, a sophisticated portal for professional NFT traders. The new product is a rebrand of Gem v2, which OpenSea acquired in April 2022, and will feature 0% fees, alongside advanced tools such as floor sweeping, instant sales, inventory management, gas fee optimization and watchlist feature. The creation of OpenSea Pro comes at a time when the platform is in heavy competition with Blur, a zero-fee NFT marketplace. Opening to counter Blur’s success, OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer commented that OpenSea Pro features the fastest user experience for buying NFTs on the market.

OpenSea Pro will be available on both desktop and mobile. A 2.5% fee will still be applicable on the main platform but all revenue coming will be invested back into the platform in order to make the space even stronger. OpenSea will continue to also focus on providing tools and improvements for retail traders and creators, as well as exploring new partnerships, primary drops and smart contract standards.

The growth of NFT marketplaces has been a remarkable phenomenon over the past year, with OpenSea’s announcemnet of its Pro version placing even more effort in furthering the NFT landscape. OpenSea has grown substantially in recent months and the release of OpenSea Pro shows its commitment to meeting the needs of NFT traders at all levels. In the words of Finzer, OpenSea will make it smoother for those just starting out to “graduate to a professional experience”. The success of OpenSeas and Blur is indicative of the market’s exponential growth and the launch of OpenSea Pro sets a new level of sophistication which will further drive the market’s growth and development.
