Elon Musk, CEO of X Corp. recently announced that he has appointed Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of the company. In an official statement, he mentioned that Yaccarino will assume the role of CEO in six weeks time. Mr. Musk is also responsible for taking the company from Twitter to X Corp which will take effect on May 18.

Ms. Yaccarino has been with NBCUniversal’s advertising department for over a decade now, and has 19 years of experience in advertising sales at Turner before coming to NBCUniversal. She is also the Chair of the Advertising Council’s Board of Directors, which makes her perfect for the new CEO position given Mr. Musk’s plan to infuse advertising together with X Corp's vision of “the everything app”.

In addition to her long term roles, Ms. Yaccarino has also taken part in The World Economic Forum where she is chair of a task force and member of WEF’s Media, Entertainment, and Culture Industry Governors Steering Committee. Her expertise and knowledge of the industry will prove to be invaluable to X Corp.

Furthermore, Ms. Yaccarino is also the global chair of YMU, a British talent-management group, providing access to a wealth of talent to Twitter which can be beneficial for enhancing its relationships with celebrities and influencers. She also interviewed Elon Musk at the MMA Global POSSIBLE conference, which ultimately resulted in her being selected as the new CEO.

Under the new leadership of Linda Yaccarino, Twitter is set to become an even bigger social media platform. The expected increase in advertising will be an important milestone in X Corp’s mission to become “the everything app” - a social media platform capable of providing entertainment, media, commerce and communication. As the company moves forward, Mr. Musk will remain Executive Chair and CTO of Twitter, overseeing product, software & sysops.
