Cardano, a popular blockchain platform, has made significant progress in its development by launching the first mainnet compatible Hydra Node to increase the scalability of the network. The successful launch of version 0.10.0 Hydra Node is the culmination of demos taken place on the Cardano mainnet in recent review sessions.

The layer 2 protocol, Hydra, introduced by the parent company of Cardano, Input Output, is designed to increase the scalability of the blockchain. Hydra is equipped with facilitated faster and cheaper transaction capabilities to make the blockchain more suitable for use in real-life scenarios.

The developers have improved the API to take account the first round of user requests, after the successful Hydra Head launch on the mainnet two weeks ago. Furthermore, they have also made various technical changes and enhancements to ensure the Hydra Head can be used in real transaction scenarios on the mainnet.

The Cardano development team has been immensely successful in launching the first version of the Hydra Node onto the Cardano blockchain. This will no doubt have a monumental influence on the scalability of the blockchain, making it more suitable for increased usage in many industries that require fast, secure and cost-effective transactions.
