Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong was recently embroiled in controversy when he announced he was taking over the BEN Coin project. This announcement sparked a wave of questions, concerns and doubts from the crypto community who are suspicious of what they believe might be a rug pull scam. David Schwartz, the chief technology officer (CTO) of the Ripple blockchain, also weighed in on the discussion, stating that he agrees without a doubt that the BEN Coin project was a rug pull scam. On the other side, Armstrong denied the accusation, arguing that the doubts and suspicions come from a place of hate and are unfounded. He pointed to his long track record as an educator in the crypto space as proof of his dedication and legitimacy. In addition, he reached an agreement with a person with the username @eth_ben, where all of the assets and liquidity for the BEN coin would be transferred to him within a week. Dogecoin Co-founder Billy Markus expressed disappointment in Armstrong's announcement. The situation has certainly led to a rift in the crypto community and it remains to be seen how it will be resolved.
