In 2024, spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs have been approved, which is considered a significant development for the cryptocurrency industry. This approval has also opened the door for altcoin ETFs, including XRP, Solana, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Cardano. While there is anticipation within the cryptocurrency community for altcoin ETFs to be approved, some analysts believe that they may not live up to expectations. Katalin Tischhauser from Sygnum Bank suggests that altcoin ETFs may not attract much interest from investors and may have limited demand, particularly as many investors already hold altcoins directly. Morningstar manager Bryan Armour also shares a similar view, stating that the interest in altcoin ETFs will be lower compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Despite this, JPMorgan estimates that cumulative demand for altcoin ETFs could exceed $14 billion.
