The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India has conducted raids at 60 locations across the country as part of its investigation into the GainBitcoin scam, which involved fraudulent promises of high returns through cloud mining contracts. The CBI seized digital evidence, including crypto wallets and emails, during the raids. The investigation took a major turn when the Supreme Court ordered Ajay Bhardwaj, the brother of the deceased founder of GainBitcoin, to disclose the details of his brother's crypto wallet. The CBI has consolidated multiple FIRs into one investigation. This crackdown on crypto fraud is part of a larger trend of increased enforcement and regulatory action in India's crypto ecosystem.
