Aleksei Andriunin, the founder of crypto firm Gotbit, has been extradited to the U.S. to face fraud charges. He is accused of participating in a conspiracy to manipulate token prices for client cryptocurrency companies. Andriunin was arrested in Portugal last year and indicted by a Boston grand jury on charges of wire fraud and conspiracy. Gotbit itself and two directors were also charged. Prosecutors claim that Gotbit provided market manipulation services between 2018 and 2024, receiving tens of millions of dollars in proceeds. Andriunin allegedly transferred millions of dollars into his personal Binance account. His next hearing has not been scheduled.
