The Avalanche Foundation has announced the launch of its Avalanche Card, a Visa credit card that allows users to make purchases using their cryptocurrencies. Developed in collaboration with Rain, the card can be used to spend Avalanche tokens (AVAX), wrapped AVAX, and stablecoins USDT and USDC at any store that accepts Visa. The card aims to further integrate traditional financial technologies with cryptocurrency. Sign-ups for the card have accelerated in Latin America, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The Avalanche Foundation aims to promote decentralized finance (DeFi) and increase mainstream adoption of blockchain technology.
