The expectation for altcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval, specifically for XRP, Solana (SOL), and Litecoin (LTC), is increasing with the new US and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) administration. The SEC has accepted three separate 19b-4 filings for spot XRP ETFs from Cboe, BZX, and Nasdaq. They have also accepted Solana ETF applications from issuers such as Grayscale Investments, Canary Capital, VanEck, 21Shares, and Bitwise. The SEC has a 240-day deadline to approve or reject these ETF applications. While the Solana ETF is expected to be approved, analysts speculate that the SEC's classification of Solana as a security in lawsuits against Binance and Coinbase could potentially hinder its approval.
