Kraken, an American cryptocurrency exchange, has published its 2024 Transparency Report, which focuses on the exchange's compliance with legal and regulatory requests. The report reveals that Kraken received data requests from law enforcement and government agencies in 71 countries, with the United States accounting for the highest number of requests at 28.6%. Germany and the UK followed with over 15% and 10% respectively. Notably, there was a 38.6% increase in combined data requests globally compared to the previous year. The report also highlights that the SEC was the most active regulatory agency in the US, although it only issued 1.9% of the total data requests to Kraken. The exchange states that it provided requested data 57% of the time, and these requests affected less than 1% of its customer base. Kraken emphasizes its commitment to compliance, customer privacy, and the protection of private information.
