The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has acknowledged WisdomTree's application to list and trade shares of an XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF). A three-week comment period has started, allowing interested parties to submit their comments on the proposal. The SEC will review these comments before deciding whether to approve, reject, or postpone the application. Institutional interest in XRP has been rising, as several XRP ETF applications have been filed recently. Acting Chair Mark Uyeda's leadership has brought a shift in regulatory approach, including the suspension of enforcement actions against major crypto exchanges. Uyeda has also created a new Crypto Task Force to establish a framework for overseeing digital assets. The political environment, including President Donald Trump's return, is believed to have an impact on the SEC's stance on crypto ETFs.
