Ross Ulbricht, the creator of Silk Road, has called for the release of Roger Ver, who was arrested in Spain on charges of Bitcoin tax fraud. Ver, an early Bitcoin investor, is accused of underreporting his gains and failing to file the correct tax returns, worth $50 million. Ulbricht, who spent over 11 years in prison for his role in Silk Road, has shown support for Ver, stating that he was there for him in times of need. Ver could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Ulbricht and crypto lawyer James Murphy expect the case to be dropped.
