Swiss blockchain infrastructure provider Taurus has developed an open-source confidential token standard for debt and equity tokenization. The standard allows financial institutions to tokenize assets on public blockchains while preserving customer privacy. Developed in collaboration with the Aztec Foundation, the smart contract utilizes the Aztec Network's layer-2 protocol and zero-knowledge proofs to keep transactions private. Taurus Chief Security Officer JP Aumasson believes that tokenizing financial instruments on public blockchains bridges the gap between institutional needs and decentralized technologies. The open-source code is available for testing and public access on GitHub. In February, Taurus launched its Taurus-CAPITAL platform for custody and tokenization on the Solana blockchain.
