The annual report from crypto tax software platform CoinLedger shows that crypto investors have seen a significant increase in realized gains in 2024, with the average investor making $5,482 this year, a 518% increase from 2023. This surge in gains comes after a bear market in 2022 that led to average losses of $7,102. The report suggests that enthusiasm for digital assets has been driven to new heights by the results of the 2024 presidential election. The top coins with the largest unrealized gains include SuperVerse (SUPER) and Hyperliquid (HYPE), while Ethereum (ETH) has experienced the most unrealized losses due to competition from the Solana blockchain. Bitcoin remains the longest-held cryptocurrency among CoinLedger users for the second year in a row.
