Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, has made a public appearance in Dubai after his release from a U.S. prison. While he is barred from running Binance under a plea deal with the Justice Department, Zhao remains influential in the crypto world and continues to hold his shareholder status. Zhao spent his time in prison exercising, writing, and discussing crypto with other inmates. Despite his diminished role at Binance, the company has maintained a strong position in the industry under new CEO Richard Teng. Zhao's wealth has rebounded as cryptocurrency markets surged after the U.S. election, making him one of the world's richest. He intends to continue holding onto his shares in the company despite offers to buy them. Zhao has also become a co-defendant in several civil lawsuits, including one filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
