Crypto researcher Tom Wan believes that enabling staking for spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) could attract more investors and boost inflows into the digital asset products. Wan notes that Ethereum ETFs have not lived up to their potential compared to Bitcoin ETFs, and enabling staking could be a differentiator for Ethereum. Staking would offer investors the promise of yields, particularly appealing to retail investors. Additionally, enabling staking could eliminate the need for management fees on ETH ETFs, as the staking yield currently covers the costs associated with staking. Wan expects asset managers with staking expertise to be the first to file for staking-enabled ETFs once available. Enabling staking for ETH ETFs could also benefit the Ethereum network by increasing the total amount of ETH staked. Finally, Ethereum has seen recent gains and positive sentiment, with many considering it to be Trump's choice network, which could bode well for the approval of staking for Ethereum ETFs under Trump's crypto-friendly administration.
