Montreal-based company Blockstream is launching an asset management division, Blockstream Asset Management (BAM), offering three funds designed to provide passive income for bitcoin investors. The Blockstream Income Fund and Blockstream Alpha Fund are set to launch in Q1 2022, followed by the Blockstream Yield Fund in Q2 2022. Blockstream aims to fill the gap in comprehensive lending strategies and risk-managed approaches for institutions and accredited investors. The company plans to partner with platforms including Unchained Capital, Hodl Hodl, and Debifi for loan origination and liquidity provision, while also collaborating with exchanges and custodians. Transparency and risk control are highlighted in the firm's pitch, with detailed quarterly disclosures, net asset value reporting, and audits to be provided. Blockstream has invested $75m in custodian Komainu for offshore fund custody.
