Bitcoin's trading volume has reached record levels, with Wednesday seeing a volume of $130 billion, the highest in its history. Since the US election, trade volume has doubled, averaging $65 billion per day. The futures market also experienced high volume with $110 billion worth of trades, the fifth-highest recorded. The spot market saw approximately $15 billion in volume, nearing an all-time high. Bitcoin ETFs saw $5 billion in trade volume, half of the all-time high in March 2024. Options volume, which was not included in the $130 billion figure, is also rapidly growing. Increased volume and liquidity can attract institutional investors looking to settle large amounts of money quickly, benefiting bitcoin's goal of becoming a global settlement layer.
