Berachain's co-founder, Smokey the Bera, admits that the developer team sold too many BERA tokens to venture capitalists during the token's launch and is now working towards buying back its supply. Following backlash over airdrop allocations, tokenomics, and insider trading activity, Smokey says the team is focused on minimizing token dilution for the Berachain community by buying back portions of the token supply. Despite the issues, BERA has seen a 15% increase in the past 24 hours and has reached a market cap of over $750 million.
