Caroline Pham, the acting chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is pursuing a pilot program for a stablecoin-backed tokenization project. The program will include the participation of CEOs from major digital assets firms such as Coinbase, Ripple, Circle, and Crypto.com. Pham had previously suggested the idea of a regulatory sandbox for tokenization, which was not embraced by the agency's former leadership. The initiative is aimed at promoting responsible innovation and exploring the use of non-cash collateral through distributed ledger technology. As acting chairman, Pham has made significant changes at the agency, including replacing senior officials. The details and date for the forum of digital assets CEOs have not yet been announced.
