Solana is ramping up testing for its highly anticipated software upgrade called Firedancer, which aims to significantly increase the processing speed of the blockchain. Solana's core developers are calling on validators to run the early version of Firedancer, known as Frankendancer, on the test network. The software upgrade is seen as a boost to Solana's stability and speed, with proponents claiming it can handle one million transactions per second. While Frankendancer has been deemed buggy and prone to crashes by some validators, its broader adoption is seen as a sign of maturity. The Solana Foundation is using subsidies to incentivize validators to switch to Frankendancer or risk losing their delegated stake.
