Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has revealed the next steps for the blockchain's scalability protocol Hydra after the completion of its Doom gaming test. Hoskinson stated that the goal is to integrate Hydra into Layer 2 protocols such as Anastasia Labs’ Midgard and Sundae Labs’ Gummiworm, with the aim of incorporating its capabilities into real applications including DeFi, payments, and gaming experiences. He mentioned that Anastasia Labs and Sundae Labs have already begun working on their own Hydra infrastructure, and there are plans for a collaboration between these firms and Input Output. Despite the success of the Doom test, Hoskinson emphasized that there is still work to be done, including improving communication between Hydra Heads and integrating zero-knowledge technology. Cardano recorded over 1 million transactions per second (TPS) during the Doom test, the highest of any blockchain. The future progress of Cardano's scalability will continue to be monitored.
