The number of weekly active addresses on Ethereum Layer 2 solutions has reached 10.18 million, marking a 6.84% increase from the previous week. These scaling solutions are experiencing growing adoption, with Layer 2 platforms now handling 5.19 times the transaction volume of the Ethereum mainnet. Leading the charge are platforms such as Base, Arbitrum, Taiko, and Optimism. Arbitrum has the highest total value locked (TVL) with $18.45 billion, followed by Base with $14.49 billion TVL and Optimism with $7.41 billion TVL. Base also has the highest transaction count with 10.84 million transactions, while Arbitrum trails with 2.2 million yearly transactions. The rise in Layer 2 activity reflects their critical role in scaling Ethereum for DeFi applications, NFT trading, and other on-chain activities without high fees. However, there has been a slight decline in the number of addresses interacting with multiple Layer 2 chains in the last week.
