Standard Chartered has launched a new entity in Luxembourg to provide crypto custody services to European Union clients under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation. The move is part of the bank's global expansion into the crypto space and follows the launch of similar services in the UAE. Laurent Marochini, formerly the head of innovation at Société Générale, will lead the Luxembourg entity as CEO. Standard Chartered is actively involved in crypto, including ventures like Zodia Custody and Zodia Markets, and remains optimistic about Bitcoin, predicting it could reach $250,000 in the near future.
