The Aave V3 protocol is expanding to the Aptos blockchain, marking its first foray outside of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem. The protocol will initially launch on the Aptos testnet, with a potential mainnet release in the future. Aave founder Stani KULECHOV believes that this expansion is crucial for the global adoption of the protocol and to address the issue of siloed liquidity. Unlike the EVM ecosystem, which uses Solidity as its programming language, Aptos utilizes Move and its associated virtual machine for executing smart contracts. Move's approach to blockchain modularity and transaction parallelization sets it apart from traditional systems. Aave has previously launched on 13 EVM blockchains and handles a significant amount of deposits and transactions. In addition, Aptos is listing Tether (USDT), the largest stablecoin, on its IDO launchpad. This further strengthens the ecosystem, as Aptos is responsible for 0.3% of the liquid USDT supply.
