The IOTA Foundation has launched a dedicated Discord Builders Server to encourage collaboration within its ecosystem. The server will be used for technical development and aims to provide a focused environment for participants to collaborate on projects involving decentralized application (DApp) development and other IOTA frameworks. It also allows for interaction between newcomers and seasoned developers, offering opportunities for mentorship and skill-sharing. Additionally, the Foundation confirmed plans to transition its mainnet to the Rebased protocol, which aims to upgrade the IOTA chain with better programmability, interoperability, and usability. The protocol is seen as a "make-or-break" decision for the ecosystem, but the Foundation believes it is well aligned with its vision for a decentralized and scalable network. A governance vote overwhelmingly passed the proposal for the Rebased protocol, and although the exact launch date on the mainnet is yet to be announced, the Foundation has stated it will be done in 2025.
