Cross-chain Ethereum-based protocol Orbiter Finance has announced that it will be sponsoring Donald Trump's inauguration speech and conducting an airdrop of its new governance token. Orbiter Finance has already made a donation of 10 ETH (worth around $33,607) to Trump's token wallet. The protocol also plans to continue sending donations throughout Trump's presidency. Other major crypto companies, including Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and Robinhood, have also donated at least $10 million to Trump's inaugural fund. Orbiter Finance will release its governance token, OBT, on the day of Trump's inauguration, with 40% of the token's total supply allocated for community airdrops. Eligible users who have actively interacted with Orbiter's protocol for at least 60 days will be eligible for the airdrop. Trump has also launched his own meme coin, $TRUMP, which has gained a market cap of over $10 billion within 24 hours. Former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan has suggested distributing $TRUMP tokens to every U.S. citizen via airdrop to garner support for Trump's presidency and pro-crypto policies.
