Mark Uyeda, a Republican SEC Commissioner, has been selected as the new acting chairman of the agency, replacing Gary Gensler. This appointment comes after Gensler's term ended. Uyeda received congratulations from Hester Peirce, another Republican commissioner. Meanwhile, Caroline Pham, a CFTC Commissioner, has been chosen to serve as the agency's acting chair. The permanent chair of the agency is yet to be determined, with Pham and Brian Quintenz being considered top candidates.
