Two block producers currently control 95% of all Ethereum (ETH) blocks, leaving the network vulnerable to transaction censorship. However, an upcoming Ethereum upgrade, EIP 7805, aims to address this issue by introducing FOCIL (Fork-choice Enforced Inclusion Lists). With the upgrade, a committee of validators will create inclusion lists of transactions that must be included in each block, reducing the power of block producers. While this upgrade won't solve all centralization issues, it will make Ethereum more censorship-resistant. The proposed upgrade is part of a larger vision for Ethereum by Justin Drake called "Beam Chain." Additionally, the price of Ether is struggling against Bitcoin, dropping to its lowest level since March 2021.
