World Network, formerly known as Worldcoin, is offering individuals the opportunity to purchase and operate its eye-scanning orbs by placing a $100 deposit. Those who pre-order the orbs become "Community Operators" and can register potential World users. However, details regarding compensation for operators are unclear. In the past, operators were paid on a commission basis, but it is uncertain how buyers of the orbs will be compensated, especially for US buyers who cannot use the WLD crypto token. World Network aims to expand its orb network beyond the four currently active in the US. The cost of the orbs and the Community Operator Agreement details will be revealed when production nears. Those interested in purchasing must obtain their own permits and jurisdiction approval. This move by World Network may be an attempt to recruit new users after missing its eyeball verification target by 994 million. Worldcoin rebranded to World Network in October 2023 to better align with its mission to accelerate human progress.
