Cboe Global Markets is set to launch the first cash-settled index options based on the price of spot Bitcoin. The Cboe Bitcoin U.S. ETF Index (CBTX) will track the performance of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds listed in the U.S. The product, regulated by the SEC, will go live on the Cboe Options Exchange on December 2nd. CBTX will offer investors indirect exposure to Bitcoin through a basket of ETFs, allowing them to capitalize on Bitcoin's price movements. In addition, Cboe plans to launch mini options and cash-settled FLEX options for both CBTX and the Cboe Mini Bitcoin U.S. ETF Index options (MBTX). The options market is expected to attract more traders after the successful debut of spot Bitcoin ETF options.
