Commodities trader Peter L. Brandt has issued a warning to his followers about an upcoming wave of scams in the trading industry. He believes that scammers will begin promoting their training and coaching services, claiming profitability in futures markets. Brandt advises traders to demand proof of profit, such as IRS Form 1256 filings or month-end statements from a registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). He also warns traders to be cautious of potential con artists entering the space and to verify the legitimacy of FCMs through the National Futures Association website.
