Apple has revealed and patched a security vulnerability in its JavaScriptCore and WebKit software that could allow for cross-site scripting attacks. The bug, discovered by Google researchers, may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems. A similar vulnerability was also found in iPhone and iPad devices. The flaw could potentially enable hackers to access sensitive user data and execute arbitrary code. The crypto community was alerted to the vulnerability, with former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao advising users to update their Macbooks as soon as possible. This follows previous reports of a vulnerability in Apple's M-series chips that could lead to the theft of cryptographic keys. It is noted that chip-level vulnerabilities cannot be fixed through a software update, posing a significant issue for Apple users.
