Off the Grid, directed by "District 9" and "Chappie" director Neill Blomkamp and created by Gunzilla Games, is an upcoming AAA multiplayer shooter game and 7-episode miniseries set to launch in 2023. It's set on a fictional Teardrop Island where three greedy corporations battle for resources using high-tech soldiers equipped with robotic body parts, sci-fi shields and lots of guns. To add more spice to the gameplay, Gunzilla will also offer their players an optional monthly battle pass subscription that unlocks access to the GUNZ marketplace on the Avalanche subnet.

Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching decentralized finance applications and creating custom blockchain networks that offers developers customized options. It gives the game’s developers an added layer of transparency, security and ownership over the in-game assets. The team at Ava Labs provides support with development, co-marketing, and launching of subnets, as well as funds projects through Avalanche Blizzard and Multiverse incentives.

Players of Off the Grid will have the chance to enjoy the game traditionally, but also have the opportunity to have their chances of looting in-game assets enhanced by blockchain technology. Gunzilla will not directly sell any in-game assets to the players and they have made sure not to make this a pay-to-win experience. The only way to obtain in-game assets will be through looting it during the game, or buying it from other players in the GUNZ marketplace.

The expansive world, technological possibilities and opportunities available on the Avalanche blockchain helps game developers like Gunzilla build high-quality, feature-rich games that can provide an immersive gamer experience for their users. Off the Grid is set to become the perfect example.
