An unlucky Bitcoin user accidentally paid an exorbitant fee of 8.18 BTC ($808,564) for a single transaction, which is over 98% of the intended transfer amount. The transaction fee is the second highest in Bitcoin history, only surpassed by another user who paid 83.65 BTC ($3.1 million). The sending wallet's balance indicates that the miner has not yet returned the overpaid fees. This incident has sparked skepticism about Bitcoin's suitability as a future transaction tool.
