A crypto holder lost over $520,000 in Chainlink (LINK) after falling victim to a scam on a fake cross-chain bridge. The scam involved attackers targeting Telegram-based decentralized finance groups and exploiting users seeking faster bridging solutions. This incident follows a report that revealed DeFi attacks resulted in the loss of $494 million to wallet drainer phishing scams in 2024, with over 332,000 addresses compromised. Scam Sniffer, the web3 security platform that reported the incident, advises users to verify URLs, avoid links from strangers, and be cautious of individuals who appear overly eager to help.
