The average transaction fees for Bitcoin and Ethereum have remained relatively low over the past 30 days, despite rising prices. The average transaction fee on the Bitcoin network was $1.40 in the first week of 2025, while Ethereum fees were slightly lower. Fees for both networks have been under $2 per transaction. The current average fee on the Bitcoin network is $1.34, half of the average fee over the past 30 days. Ethereum fees have also been consistently lower than Bitcoin's, with the average fee standing at $1.093 per transaction over the past 30 days. However, these figures only represent the cost of transferring ether and do not include additional fees for decentralized exchange swaps and onchain NFT sales. Bitcoin network fees have decreased since mid-December, but there is a backlog of unconfirmed transactions.
