Anthropic, an AI startup backed by Amazon, is reportedly near to securing $2 billion in a funding round. The company has also struck a deal with Panasonic to integrate its AI models into the electronics maker's products, including a family coordination and goal-setting app called Umi. Panasonic plans to incorporate experts to provide advice on healthy habits and routines, and aims to integrate the AI capabilities of Umi into related products. Additionally, Panasonic has launched the "Panasonic Go" initiative to accelerate AI-driven innovation within the company, with a goal of generating 30% of revenue from AI-driven businesses by 2030. Amazon has invested $8 billion into Anthropic and retains a minority stake following this latest investment.
