Crypto wallet startup Zengo’s technical team has discovered and reported a privacy issue in WhatsApp's disappearing media feature. The team found that the feature could be bypassed through the platform's web app, prompting them to disclose the issue to WhatsApp. However, WhatsApp's initial patch did not fully resolve the problem. Now, the messaging platform has rolled out a more comprehensive software update to fix the issue. While the new update solves the core issue by preventing recipients' devices from displaying a View Once message, it still allows other sender's devices to receive the message, posing a potential risk.
