Shiba Inu lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has proposed the establishment of a Strategic Hub for Innovation in Blockchain (S.H.I.B.) to drive blockchain growth in the United States. The proposal aims to make the US a leader in blockchain development by creating a dedicated hub, similar to Silicon Valley, that integrates physical and digital infrastructure. The plan includes developing modern labs and incubators, secure data centers, high-speed connectivity, and on-chain nodes. It also suggests economic incentives such as tax incentives, grants, and investment-matching programs for blockchain startups and small businesses. The proposal emphasizes partnerships with universities for blockchain education and a "regulatory sandbox" to test blockchain solutions. The project is estimated to cost between $1.3 billion to $2.35 billion over a ten-year period. In the short term, it could create 5,000 jobs and inject $500 million into the economy, expanding to 20,000 high-skilled jobs and contributing $2 billion annually in the medium term. The proposal projects a 10-to-1 return ratio over a decade and highlights the potential for national security enhancements and improvements to the US trade balance.
