SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce is being considered as a potential successor to Chairman Gary Gensler during the US elections. Peirce, known as "Crypto Mom," has been critical of Gensler's regulatory approach and believes that leaving crypto to be addressed through misguided legal cases is a mistake. Peirce has a strong background in financial market regulation and has served in various advisory roles in the past. Despite industry support, it is unlikely that she will be appointed as chairman as she has stated her plans to leave the commission after her term ends in 2025.
